First order of business is..
February 28th, 2008 § Leave a Comment
Business. Agreed. But what about ethics and people? Is money a higher priority or Values or Integrity? Personally I like working for a company with values. And I’m talking about values that are applied on day-to-day business, not the one on mission statement. It is sad that people are treated as resource not as human beings. It is sad that first criteria for innovation these days is saleability. What if someone in early ages had said we should not invent wheel because there is no market for it? Vision should not get restricted by revenues. Business shouldn’t be irresponsible towards its employees. Biggest asset of any company are its employees. Without them, nothing would work. Yes, You might have a product which is best-seller now. But if your employees aren’t motivated enough, quality will start going down. There won’t be any new ideas to make it better. And your star performers will leave you one by one.
Money matters but not as much as people who help bring it

1. No more midnight snacks with 3 hour long chat sessions
2. No more another set of wardrobe to raid
3. No more giggling about nothing
4. No more complaining about other people’s clothes
5. No more instant coffee just ‘coz you look tired
6. No more comparing notes about kisses
7. No more drooling at hunks in cinema halls
8. No more show-off sessions of clothes you just bought
9. No more bitching about office bitch
10. and most of all, No more cheering you up when you are down.. or giving you a shoulder to cry on..
Living alone is fun, but living with your twin-from-past-lives beats it all

Why O Why?
February 26th, 2008 § 2 Comments
It’s so easy to give in to temptations and so hard to stick to your resolutions.
You are not the one I’m looking for
But I won’t tell you so
You are everything a girl wants
So I won’t tell you to go
I’ll smile and move closer
I’ll dance with you
But when I’m lonely in night
I won’t be thinking of you
Walk away, my friend
before you get tangled in this web
for I’m already lost and cannot be saved
and I won’t be blamed if same happens to you

She asked about his day.
He mumbled a reply.
She asked if they should go out for dinner.
He said he was tired.
She asked if he has found someone new
He said “Huh!!!!”
Just because Bozo can’t be bothered with dinner tonight doesn’t mean he’s cheating on You.. Give it a Rest..
Wait til you find lipstick on his collar and if you do, just kick him out. No point confronting him..

Extinction of a culture by a culture
February 21st, 2008 § Leave a Comment
Recently I read an article about vanishing languages.. Great Andamanese is on top of the list of endangered languages. Only 8 people are left who can speak it and that too not so fluently. How sad it is?
In human quest of colonizing, spreading the so-called civilized culture, we have managed to destroy their culture. Their folk-lore is lost, their children can’t speak their language, their crafts are on verge of becoming lost.
Where are so-called Indian culture Saviors? Isn’t Andaman a part of our country? Don’t we have any responsibility towards natives? We make movies about ABCDs. Hell, more than half of books written by Indian Authors these days are about Identity Crisis. And yet, our tribes can’t even manage to survive and of course nothing is done but few studies by few professors, few articles, 1-2 books that no one would ever read.
I love my country. I can’t wait to get out of it. And I refuse to agree that Arundhati Roy or Jhumpa Lahiri are greatest authors or our times. (I don’t consider Chetan Bhagat an author.. And I’m not even getting into any argument about it.. )
I’m sorry that we have been so neglectful and we’ll probably stay this way til I become PM
Faith in Ourselves..
February 20th, 2008 § Leave a Comment
Have you ever noticed that our family and friends usually have more faith in our capabilities than us. How is it that they can see our inner strengths but we never can? Yes, they are bit biased. Their hopes and expectations put too much pressure on us to perform well. Sometimes, with good results. Sometimes, not so good.
It is hard to disappoint people who believe you can do just about anything. It is harder to listen to their optimism. And Hardest is keeping up a brave face when you are trembling from inside with doubts.
But then again, It is this optimism which gives us strength to try and to excel.. These are the people you think of, the moment you hear a good news. Which brings me to point of this post..
I wasn’t planning to preach.. Really.. I wasn’t..
I’m just saying Thank You to those who always told me I can do whatever I want. It is nice to hear “I knew you would get through it”

Playing with Colors
February 19th, 2008 § Leave a Comment
I work in a company which makes probably the coolest imaging products. And yet I remain an amateur user of most of our products.. Funny, considering I get to install all software on my laptop for free.. I get software DVDs as gifts.. I have access to all tutorials for free.. Infact I get paid for clearing high-end certifications.. Yet I remain an amateur..
That said, recently I started exploring colors.. Of course it is fascinating but it is so vast and confusing as well.. Especially throw in few color spaces, few conversion algorithms and you are all set to sleep through it, the way you did in college.. Hmmm.. apart from technicalities, color themes are really cool and not to mention color Harmonies.. Very Impressive.. Check out kuler@adobe if you want to know what I mean.. a lookie at FAQs won’t harm either

If you are wondering why I’m starting again.. you obviously don’t know me which means there’s no point in explaining it anyway..
Okay fine.. stop smirking..
I just need to complain about life, world, work in general.. and blog is such a easy way to do it plus I get so much sympathy as well..
So I’ll see you around.. Ciao
PS: I’m doing well.. traveled a bit.. working a bit.. (This much update should suffice)
