Fahrenheit 451
June 16, 2008
A world where books are burned. Where knowledge is what tv provides you with. Where God is just another sitcom member. Where thinking is discouraged or frowned upon. Where you can be burned along with Dante, Milton..
Its a scary world. Its a world I would never step into. Its world I refuse to acknowledge. But I fear its a world we are heading to.
In this digital age, more and more people are leaving books/newspapers/magazines for the comfort and ease of TV. Books/news are now politically correct rather than just be correct. We are more scared of saying wrong things than missing right things.
In 1947, Ray Bradbury predicted it and I’m afraid by 2047, it might just come true.

I agree with you whole heartedly. The tolerance and misguided values of today’s society are stripping our children of the core beliefs they need to grow into responsible, character based contributors to the community.
I better not get started…
Let’s just say I’m afraid you are on the right track!
You should check out my site. It sounds like you would enjoy it. There’s a lot to look at, but it can all be a lot of fun.
