Interesting quandary, there. Appease your fans or strive for perfection.
Its easy to take the “artiste” approach too far. Witness Guns & Roses latest album. Axl spent over a decade working on it and it still was mediocre. By the time he was done, pop culture had moved on and he was no longer relevant.
On the other hand, the Harry Potter trash was pumped out quickly and it shows.

True.. but sometimes creativity just can’t be forced.. I would rather wait another year than to be disappointed by next fire and ice book.
Most of the times, cashing out on hype results in horrible sequels. Even Harry Potter books by the end weren’t as engaging as first one.
