Things you should never ever write in your Matrimonial Ad…
March 30th, 2009 § 2 Comments
1. You are virgin… For Guys - Seriously!! for 30 somethings, its not something to be very proud of.. For Girls – This might mean, you are not. ’cause we, the Great Docile Indians girls, are by default one.. So Just leave it out.
2. How good Looking you are – people, we can see.. And your photographs don’t always agree..
3. How well you are doing in your career when the salary you mentioned falls in lower strata of given Career. It implies either your expectations are way low or you are little unaware of real world..
4. Languages you can speak- If you can’t write English properly, it’s a given you can’t speak it either.. Dun include it please.
5. Preaching – It’s ok to have beliefs or follow someone.. but in here we want to know about you, not about your god and how rest of the world is going to hell and you might be only left alive.
6. Decade old Expectations from spouse – I cant comment on girls here.. but for guys, If you want someone to cook and clean for you, take out a maid ad.. and If you want a girl just to take care of your mother, get a Nurse..
7. Britney is your favorite Singer.. I refuse to explain this one
8. Chetan Bhagat is your favorite author.. And he inspired you to write a book..
9. What an achiever you are – I don’t care if you won scholarship from Harvard, I would rather know what are you doing right now and what kind of person you are.
10. How Desperate you are – Now, this is scary.. All that love you have inside of you, that you want to share with certain someone.. too much of pressure

I’m getting Inspired…

..By random tweets I see and blogs that I read.. Sometimes they do make sense.. Not like the ones where you think you can fly like superman.. Or that Nobody noticed when you fell off your chair in a bar (*after 1 drink).. The ones which *Actually* make sense..
So here’s my new life plan..
* Stop doing things that I don’t like – This includes work, meeting people, eating bad food, smiling at people I hate
* No Whining – Yeah, So I didn’t get the raise I wanted.. So my parents never took me to Disneyland.. My boyfriend cheated on me.. Whatever.. Just Get over it..
* Take Charge – So no more sitting around and complaining about things not working out.. So If I want something done, I’ll go and get it…
* Get My Priorities right – No more focusing on things which don’t matter in long run includes petty office politics..
* Get My Finances Straight – No more holidays or shopping till all bills and debts are paid off.. Includes family loans
* Be a better Human Being – I don’t care if that’s being idealist, but I think I want to concentrate more on content life than corporate.. So don’t be surprised if down the line, I quit IT to move into social sector.. not yet though.. too many bills to clear

Driving..
Sometimes you just drive without knowing where you are or where you are heading to…
sometimes you try to navigate and reach your destination
sometimes you take shortcuts
sometimes you enjoy the view
sometimes other drivers cause you grief
sometimes you smile with them..
So right now I might be cruising without directions but soon, I’ll end up wherever I’m supposed to…
Time..

..heals all ..changes all
you don’t even realize how it passes
One day people you were so close to are so far off now..
The ones who claimed to love you, are nowhere in picture anymore..
The passions have faded..
The need has gone..
Earlier you used to talk 10 times a day, then it came down to 1, then once a week, then in a month…
Earlier you would not sleep without thinking about them, now only time you think about them is when you are being nostalgic..
Distance played it part, so did time and so did you…
I wonder when you are face-to-face, would it be same as before?
The shared looks, the silly laughs, all night conversations, long silent walks.. would it all come back?
I hope….
Why would you believe that a stranger can lead you to God????
November 18th, 2008 § Leave a Comment
I just find it strange..
A person decides to preach what I’ll call basic courtesies and all of sudden 1000s of people are following him.. Most of these preachers are frauds.. They live off your money and yet you leave behind your education/family to follow them. You decide to adopt life style stated by them, even though same has been said by your scriptures for years…
Is it Idiotic or what????
No Sant/madhvis for me please.. I can do a better job of screwing my life by myself..
Things I just don’t get..

Egg-less Mayonnaise
Sugar-free Sugar/Sweets/Chocolate
Fat-free Butter/Cheese/Milk
Egg-less Cake
These are just so Duh… If you can’t eat Eggs due to whatever reason, why cant you let go of Stuff that contains Eggs.. Esp Mayo.. If it doesn’t have Egg in it.. It’s just not Mayo.. Deal with it and Accept it.
Then if you are so figure conscious or health conscious, Don’t eat Sugar/Butter/Cheese.. Nobody is forcing you to do that.. You want to have perfect figure, then make few sacrifices.. Size 0 is not for everyone.. Show that you deserve the compliments
Sometimes..

..it’s just hard living up to who people think you are..
Sometimes, it’s easier to give in to temptations..
Sometimes, I just wanna curl up in bed and not get out of it..
Sometimes, I wish you were who I thought you were..
Sometimes, I wish I could take back the pain I inflicted..
Sometimes, I wish you were here..
Sometimes, I wish you weren’t..
Sometimes, I wish I was there..
Sometimes, I wish I knew what I wanted..
Am I being too idealist?
September 23rd, 2008 § 1 Comment
I chose to stay in a field which was less lucrative than other because I liked it.. I decided to stay offshore because simply I wanted to.. I joined my recent place because I wanted to be with my family.. Money was always the secondary part.. And yet it seems I probably should’ve done things in different manner, more money minding manner.. And this is preached by a kid who started working just last year. What has world come to?
How sad it really is?
Profession is decided because that’s where money is.. Your career path follows the money trail.. You tell me I come from old school of thought because I think liking what you do is more important than anything else in a career..
I agree you need money for most things in life but what’s the point of money if you are not happy with what you do.. We spend 10-12 hours in office daily.. Rest is spent in socializing with same colleagues talking about same work.. If you hate your work, haven’t you just wasted your life??
I know I’m being old-school and too idealist.. But I’m happy with decisions I made in life.. I like what I do.. I might not like my superiors at all times.. But overall I’m happy finding bugs.. I would eventually move out.. but that would again be for something I would like doing..
Or maybe I can just marry some really rich guy, give up my job, start teaching street kids again and still shop (a lot)

Well.. Finally had a weekend in long time where I wasn’t sick. I know I should be sad about spending a whole month being sick.. But I’m not.. Reason being -
1. Because I wasn’t allowed to eat outside food, I had to cook my lunch, dinners resulting in tremendous improvement in my cooking.
2. I lost weight – majorly. Yeah, yeah.. Not good.. I should eat more.. But nothing beats the feeling you get by wearing 5 yr old jeans again. (wearing not struggling to get into it)
3. Saved money – can’t eat out, so don’t wanna go out, so no more shopping (had internet been down, I could’ve declared 100% savings
)
4. Finished more books and movies than ever in 1 month – Sick people have no option but too rest coz they are too tired while working whole day
5. I got to get off work early – my manager is a doll. Work done, go home, no point exerting yourself
And you ask, don’t I get sick of being sick?
